ArcadePaint is a futuristic, full-fledged chromatic library & workspace. A sophisticated developer oriented toolset. Reveal the world of color in all of it’s facets, more than you may have ever thought possible. Look at color as though you are looking at it for the very first time. Take it apart, experiment with it, and put it back together again. Calculate color math concisely, blend colors into gradients, organize colors into palettes, or maybe even stack colors together into sprites – and then animate them. Our powerful toolset (which actually gets more refined the more it is used) offers precise measurements for developers, game-designers, film-makers, cartoonists, map-makers, editors, and more.
Color-Spaces Supported:
RGB (Red, Green, Blue), RGBA (Red, Green, Blue, Alpha), HEX (Hexidecimal), HSL (Hue, Saturation, Lightness),
HSLA (Hue, Saturation, Lightness, Alpha), RGB565 (16Bit/RGB), JZAZBZ: (JPEG), HSV (Hue, Saturation, Value),
CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black), YUV (Luma, Chrominance), LMS (Long, Medium, Short), LAB (CIELAB),
YCbCr (Luminance, Chroma Blue, Chroma Red), LUV (CIELUV), HCL (Hue, Chroma, and Lightness),
HUNTER-LAB (Hunter Lab), LCH (CIELCH), XYZ (CIE 1931 XYZ), YXY (Yxy).
[ PLANNED COLOR-SPACES ]
WideGamutRGB (Adobe, Red-Camera), REC2020 (ITU-R Rec, BT.2020), PROPHOTORGB (Kodak, Reference Output Medium Metric),
DCIP3 (Digital Cinema Initiatives, Protocol 3).
[ IN-DEVELOPMENT ]
RGZ (CollabGadget RGZ,) , RZZ (CollabGadget RZZ / “Rizz”).
Numerical Color-Systems Supported:
Hexadecimal (base-16), Decimal (base-10), Octal (base-8), Binary (base-2).
Output-Formats Supported:
Colors (Color-Tile, Hex), Palettes (6-Color Hex Array), Gradients (Linear, Radial, Conic),
Sprites (GIF, PNG), CSS-Patterns/Output (Cascading Style-Sheets).
The above color-spaces & numerical-systems have been hand-selected. They cover a wide range of color-models used widely
in practical application: digital imaging, printing, map-making, computer-applications, arcade-cabinet design, broadcast, entertainment,
and color science. Each format serves many different purposes, and come with their own advantages/disadvantages depending
on the application). We will update this list as more color-spaces/systems are added to ArcadePaint in future-updates.
Color Harmony:
- Analogous Colors: Colors that are adjacent to each other on the color wheel. They create a sense of harmony and are pleasing to the eye.
- Achromatic Harmony: Grayscale equivalents of the original color.
- Compound: Analogous colors for both the original color and its complementary color.
- Complementary Colors: Two colors that are opposite each other on the color wheel. They create a high contrast and vibrant look when placed next to each other.
- High Contrast : High contrast colors based on the grayscale luminance of the input color.
- Low Contrast : Similar to high contrast, but in low contrast colors.
- Monochromatic: Different shades, tones, and tints of a single color. For example, various shades of blue ranging from light blue to navy blue.
- Neutral (Updated): The neutral color based on the grayscale luminance of the input color.
- Pastel : Produced by reducing the saturation of the original color.
- Split/Complementary Colors: A variation of the complementary color scheme. It uses a base color and the two colors adjacent to its complement. It provides the contrast of complementary colors while also retaining the harmony of analogous colors.
- Square : Complementary color and its complementary, creating a square harmony.
- Tetradic Colors: Four colors arranged into two complementary color pairs. It offers a lot of variety while still maintaining color balance.
- Triadic Colors: Three colors that are evenly spaced around the color wheel. They provide a balanced and harmonious look.
Triadic (Split/Complementary) : A combination of triadic and split complementary harmonies. - Tetradic (Double/Complementary): Tetradic harmony colors (double complementary).
- Quadratic Harmony: Quadratic harmony colors based on the input color.
- Warm and Cool : Warm or cool based on color temperature.
